MaxiCode

MaxiCode is a 2D barcode that can specific amount of information within a square symbol. All 256 characters can be encoded. MaxiCode is used for world-wide addressing, shipping packages and package sortation. MaxiCode symbols are fixed in size and are made up of offset rows of hexagonal modules arranged around a unique finder pattern. MaxiCode encodes data in two messages called the Primary and Secondary message.

MICR

MICR is an acronym for Magnetic Ink Character Recognition. It describes the special typeface and ink used to encode the numbers and symbols printed on the bottom line of checks and other documents for high-speed magnetic or optical processing. MICR fonts is used for bank checks and paper based drafting. Magnetic Ink Character Recognition, or MICR, is a character recognition technology used primarily by the banking industry to facilitate the processing of cheques.

Databar PDF417 barcode font is a two-dimensional barcode font standard capable of encoding text, numbers, files and data bytes. It is a stacked barcode composed of rows of linear barcode. Being 2-dimensional barcode allows it to carry more information than the 1-dimensional barcodes. The "417" derives from the fact that each encoded codeword in the barcode is represented by four bars and four spaces. The total width of each codeword is 17-module wide and thus the "17" in the name.

DataMatrix barcode can encode text, numbers, files and actual bytes of data. Good choice when faxing documents with barcodes because the symbol can withstand poor resolution and scanning issues. DataMatrix is a two dimensional matrix symbology which is made up of square modules arranged within a finder pattern.
